This is a very funny book about a kid named Tony Baloney(really) who will do basicly anything to get onto the the Late Show with David Letterman. After alot of trouble, David Letterman finally invites him onto the show in New York. Upon getting into NY, Tony and his 3 friends get lost, but after a wild adventure they finally get to show.

The thrilling conclusion to the Maximum Ride series returns to its roots by returning to its comical action nature. The book makes the winged children abandon the sky and go to the water in this episode. They will face new enemies and Max will face her feelings for Fang. It is worth picking up for anyone interested in the Maximum Ride series as well as anyone who hasn't read it.

Dr. Boris Kondratieff from Colorado State University brought in creepy crawlies for our teens to learn about. He even let teens hold Rosie, a 26 year old tarantula. YIKES! We finished this program with a Fear Factor Taste Off. The winner had to eat worm larva to win a $25.00 gift card to Wal-Mart. I'm sure that it was well worth it!!!

Local author, Ingrid Law, stopped by to share with our Art/Writing Club her new book, Savvy which will be released May 1, 2008. Ingrid read from Savvy. She introduced us to her main character, Mibs and talked about the significance of 13th birthdays in Mib's family. 3:41- Nominations begin. Here they are:
Secretary: Roger, Rachel H., and John
V.P.: Rachelle, Dustin, and Megan

3:52- John, Julia, and possibly Megan are resigning.
3:53- Riding club and Anime club, as well as the Pizza Taste Off, are a 100% certainty.
3:55- We reeled off our names to our new members.
3:56- Teen Read Week is taking place on October 14-20th. Comdey acts are at 4:00, on Wed, Oct 17th.
4:01- Viki will be trying to get TAB members' fines forgiven.
4:02- Oct 19th, from 5:00-8:00 is a game night. There is a good chance the Scott room will be availible.
4:03- On Halloween, from 3:00-5:00, there is a costume party. From 5:00-6:00 there is a contest for teens for the best costume.
4:07- The dress code for the party is no excessive gore, no immodesty, no R rated stuff.
4:09- A comitee is needed to plan the Halloween party. It's 2:30- the TAB meeting on September 26th.
4:12- We brainstormed various ideas for November and December.
4:15- Kelly wants more movies for the section.
4:16- Speeches are on September 26th. Be ready.
4:18- There will be a possible TAB lockin. No more info at this time.
4:21- Free food coupons, meeting adjourned.

TAB MEETING
MAY 31st, 2007 3:08-3:54
3:08- We started with "Two Truths and a Lie".
3:16- The meeting started in earnest. Viki wants more people to respond to the blog.
3:18- Viki apologizes about the flip-flop decoration thing. But it may be held a later date.
3:19- Viki made volunteer calendars, and we discussed when she needs volunteers.
3:21- She needs help for the Duct Tape Wonders workshop. Times are June 14, 1:30-4:30
3:22- We talked about the need for volunteers on June 11, 18, and 25.
3:24- Game day: volunteers needed!
3:25- Lots of stuff us happening on Mondays and Thursdays in July.
3:26- The TAB is sponsering the end of the SRP party- but almost any teen is welcome. We need a comitee to decide what's going on.
3:27- (see the president's sheet for who's on the comitee)
3:31- Someone new name Caleb showed up.
3:32- We explained the TAB to our new members.
3:36- Some of us signed up for the SRP. We also discussed the SRP.
3:40- Viki brought a slew of calendars, which I forgot to bring home with me...
3:40- We will be having a TAB meeting July 11, from 3:00-4:30.
3:45- Please come to the first comitee meeting. We must please the new director.
3:46- Brochures are here! They detail what's going on in June and July.
3:48- The comitee will meet on Monday afternoons, starting on June 25, 2:00-3:00.
3:52- We talked about mystery themed activities. Please come to Mystery Jeprody.
3:54- Viki talked about volunteer forms to the newbies.
3:54- Meeting adjounred.

TAB Meeting Reminder!

Just reminding you that our TAB meeting has been changed from May 23rd to May 31st. We will meet on Thursday, May 31st at 3:00 p.m in the Scott Room. This meeting is open to teens or tweens entering 6th grade next year who are interested in joining the board. Of course our regular board members will be there also!

Are you interested in planning activities for yourself and your peers? Do you like gathering with friends? Do you want to improve your library? If so, join us! The Teen Advisory Board makes decisions about programs and activities, volunteers with those activities as well as other activities in the library, and just has fun. Check us out!

Oh yeah, we have snacks too!
